Realtor FAQs

What does a home inspection include?

A home inspection evaluates the major accessible components of a residential property, including the structure, roof, exterior, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, interior, insulation and ventilation.

When should my client schedule an inspection?

Buyers should schedule a home inspection as soon as possible after an accepted offer to allow time for the inspection, report review, and any necessary follow-up before closing.

How much does a home inspection cost?

A typical base home inspection fee may range from $400 to $600, depending on the property's size and features. Additional services may affect the total price.

Does the inspection include radon, WDI or mold testing?

Radon testing, wood-destroying insect inspections, and mold sampling are specialized services and are available separately or as part of eligible inspection packages.

Should my client attend the inspection?

Yes. We recommend that buyers attend their home inspection when possible so they can ask questions and better understand the property's condition.

What happens after the inspection?

After the inspection, buyers receive a detailed digital inspection report within 24 hours outlining observed conditions, safety concerns, and items that may require maintenance, repair or further evaluation.
